Washington (May 25, 2009) – FOCUS LLC, a national middle market investment banking firm providing merger, acquisition, divestiture and corporate finance services, announces Kevin Hogan has joined FOCUS as a Senior Advisor in the Chicago, IL office. Mr. Hogan brings over 40 years of experience in the Information Technology industry to the FOCUS team. “We are very fortunate that Kevin has agreed to join FOCUS as a Senior Advisor. His experience in the IT industry and his many years working with C level executives adds a great deal to what we can offer our clients,” said Fred Floberg, regional managing director of FOCUS.

At the start of his career, Hogan spent 15 years selling main-frame computers with NCR, Honeywell Information Systems and Raytheon Data Systems, to companies like Standard Oil of Indiana, Tenneco, G.D. Searle and Johnson Wax. Kevin exited that portion of his IT career as VP of Sales for a start up company which provided computer services.

In 1978, Hogan orchestrated a significant career transition and established Computer Professionals Executive Services LLC, a retained executive recruiting and transition coaching firm. For the last thirty years he has been able to return to the same people to whom he had been selling hardware, software and computer services, and provide them with executive search services. While the bulk of his work has been emerging companies in the greater Chicagoland area, he has performed ‘C’ level searches for large IT users like Caremark, and large IT providers like Unisys. Additionally, he provides Transition Coaching services to companies who are reassigning managers within their own company, or as part of a severance package in lieu of ‘outplacement’ services.

Hogan received a BS from St. Ambrose University and served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He sits on the Boards of several software companies, and is a member of the Illinois Technology Association, the Illinois Technology Foundation (Board), Technology Executives Club and the Technology Leaders Association.
