Washington, DC (April 1, 2008) – FOCUS LLC, a national middle market investment banking firm providing merger, acquisition, divestiture and corporate finance services, named Frank Slacik as its new chief financial officer (CFO). Formerly of JMP Securities, Slacik brings more than 20 years of national and international financial operating expertise to the FOCUS team.

“The depth of knowledge Frank brings from managing both domestic and overseas financial operations made him a must-have CFO candidate,” said Doug Rodgers, CEO of FOCUS. “Frank’s deep understanding of financial service firms coupled with his extensive global experience with middle market companies will be a tremendous asset as our M&A deals continue to expand overseas.”

Prior to joining FOCUS, Slacik served as CFO of JMP Securities in San Francisco, a $100 million institutional broker-dealer and hedge fund management firm with operations in middle-market investment banking, equity sales and trading, proprietary equity research and asset management. Slacik built the financial operations of JMP Securities from the ground up.

“FOCUS is extraordinary because its investment bankers have all held C-level positions in the industry,” said Slacik. “Clients hire FOCUS to buy, sell and finance their companies because we’ve walked in their shoes and we speak their language.”

Previously, Slacik was financial controller of Citibank in Prague, Czech Republic, and held financial management positions in the retail, international and corporate banking business of Bank of America. Additionally, he was President of the brokerage subsidiary of StockPower, Inc. Slacik began his career at Arthur Andersen where he earned his CPA certification in California.

Slacik earned his MBA in Finance and Strategic Planning from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
