Atlanta, GA (July 11, 2013) – FOCUS, a national middle market investment banking firm providing merger, acquisition, divestiture and corporate finance services, announces that Michael McGregor has joined the firm as a Managing Director in the Southeast region. McGregor has years of experience advising on business transfers, capital raises, and management buyouts.

“Michael’s work in the manufacturing, business and healthcare industry, coupled with his finance and business start-up expertise made him a choice candidate for FOCUS’ Atlanta office,” said Jonathan Wilfong, southeast regional managing partner of FOCUS. “He will be an excellent addition to our FOCUS team.”

Prior to Joining FOCUS, Mr. McGregor was a Managing Director at Robertson & Foley, a regional Investment Bank based in Charlotte, NC. He successfully led recapitalizations of family-owned businesses to private equity ownership; steered several construction-sensitive businesses through the 363 bankruptcy process; executed multiple buy side acquisition search engagements; and assisted a diverse number of sellers of privately-held businesses.

Mr. McGregor started his career in finance as a registered representative at Paine, Webber Jackson & Curtis and then joined the Firestone Tire & Rubber Company (later acquired by Bridgestone Tire) where he worked in a variety of positions including financial analysis, product marketing, retail district management, regional marketing management, market research, database marketing management and strategic project management.

Mr. McGregor has been a founder or co-founder of 3 start-up businesses: a direct advertising & marketing firm, a retail chain and an innovative service provider. As founder and Vice-President of AutoPact Car Service, Mr. McGregor conceived of and launched the nation’s first “HMO for Car Care” raising over $5 million in venture capital in the process. He sold the operations to AAA Carolinas in 2001.

Mr. McGregor was a volunteer business counselor with the non-profit S.C.O.R.E. for five years in Charlotte. He is the author of “The Insider’s Guide to Finding and Buying the Perfect Business” an instructional 2 DVD set aimed at transitioning corporate executives.
