FOCUS Investment Banking is looking to add a Marketing Manager with digital marketing experience to join our growing team.

Job Description

Entrepreneurial middle market investment banking firm providing M&A services seeks a marketing professional to support each of the firm’s ten industry teams in developing and executing on their marketing initiatives to drive new business. Firm-wide marketing strategy laid out and driven by the management team and the marketing manager will be the key liaison ensuring the team activities are supported and effective, and stay within the overall firm-wide plan. The industry teams have some independence in designing and implementing their marketing strategies and we are looking to harmonize these approaches within the overall firm-wide plan while retaining their individuality.

FOCUS is a nationwide professional services firm with distributed staff. We seek a collaborative and proactive individual with experience in business-to-business marketing to take responsibility for continued progress on programs.  Candidate must demonstrate leadership ability as well as instincts for collaborating in a matrixed environment. A mix of “creator”; “enabler”; and “doer” – generating ideas, sharing knowledge and support, as well as execute on tasks.

Background working in a professional services firm in a marketing capacity is strongly preferred.

Activities to include:

  • Organization, coordination, planning across team programs, working with each team’s designated marketing lead, to ensure that activities are prioritized and resourced as possible within firm structure
  • Establish efficient workflows for development, review, compliance and launch of communications pieces and programs
  • Coordinate with management team to identify and provide resources for priority programs; ensure the resources are deployed efficiently and effectively by the teams
  • Coordinate outside contractors providing design and content development, webmaster, database managers
  • Work with experts around the firm in social media and other tools to spread best practices across teams
  • Oversee and help execute communications programs across content and channels:
    • Press releases, newsletters, articles, white papers, blogs etc
    • Social media (Linked In etc)
  • Writing, reviewing and proofreading with attention to detail critical
  • Supporting teams in defining and profiling target universe of prospects, leveraging available tools and resources (databases and team analyst)

Qualifications & experience:

  • 3 – 5 years marketing management experience in a professional services firm (financial services, accounting, law, consulting, IT services)
  • Proficiency in MS Office Products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated strength with technology tools critical to our operations: Salesforce and LinkedIn. Able to design and execute on campaigns, assist others in same, coordinate best practices.
  • Prefer an understanding of FINRA compliance rules around marketing communications
  • Bachelor’s required (Business, Marketing or Communications preferred)
  • Outstanding organizational, administrative and communications skills are a must
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and best practices; experience in digital marketing
  • Knowledge of databases and CRM tools, including Salesforce, ZoomInfo, Source Scrub
  • Strong problem-solving skills; flexibility and adaptability
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through skills
  • Strong team player with the ability to work in a matrixed organization with a virtual team
  • Available to travel occasionally for firm events and work sessions (post-COVID)
  • Flexibility to work occasionally outside of own time zone (key management team members are in Europe; EST and PST zones).
