Rick Thompson is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the firm’s financial operations, including capital structure, financial reporting, tax filings, treasury management, human resources, and information technology. With extensive expertise in corporate finance, Mr. Thompson ensures the organization’s financial health and operational efficiency while driving strategic initiatives.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Thompson held leadership roles at GTSI, a publicly traded company in Chantilly, Virginia, where he served as Manager of Corporate Finance and Revenue Recognition. In these roles, he was instrumental in optimizing financial performance and ensuring regulatory compliance in a complex corporate environment.
A licensed CPA in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Mr. Thompson brings a strong track record of accomplishments across a wide range of financial disciplines, including financial planning and analysis, revenue recognition, SOX compliance, treasury management, systems implementation, and project management. He is also a Series 28 Introducing Broker/Dealer Financial and Operations Principal, showcasing his deep expertise in broker-dealer compliance and operations. Over the course of his career, Mr. Thompson has spent more than five years developing, implementing, and testing policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and OMB A-123, “Management’s Responsibility for Internal Control.”
His professional journey includes progressive leadership roles at Cyntergy, the Consumer Electronics Association, Grant Thornton LLP, and GTSI, where he honed his skills in managing financial operations for medium to large organizations.
Mr. Thompson earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Virginia Tech. He currently resides in Virginia with his wife, Amy, and their daughter, Claire.
