Conor Miller is a Managing Director at FOCUS Investment Banking. His background includes over 20 years of C-level operating experience, business strategy, and M&A expertise across a diverse range of industries, including Power Systems and Renewables, Advanced Manufacturing, Consumer Products, and Telecommunications. He delivers high-impact outcomes for clients and has an impeccable track record of closing complex transactions.
Before joining FOCUS Investment Banking Conor founded xStrategy, an advisory firm to help entrepreneurs maximize their exit strategies through tailored M&A advisory services. He has led buy-side and sell-side engagements with a focus on achieving optimal transaction value and long-term business alignment.
Previously, Conor served as Chief Operating Officer at Zamp Solar, where he led the company’s transformation from a regional reseller into a market-leading off-grid solar manufacturer. He spearheaded operational scaling, intellectual property expansion, and strategic brand positioning which culminated in an acquisition by Dometic. His leadership continued at Dometic Group as a Business Unit Director and COO, where he managed global integration initiatives, product innovation, and growth planning within the Mobile Power Solutions business segment.
Conor’s career began in telecommunications and digital media as founder of LJ3 Media and later served as Chief Broadcast Engineer at a regional telecom provider managing pre-acquisition capital intensive projects. There, he pioneered digital media automation solutions, merged an acquired CBS affiliate, and partnered with Google on an advanced R&D cable ad-insertion platform. After telecom, he led product development and brought manufacturing onshore at WakeMAKERS, an innovative provider in marine sports. In this role he developed intellectual property, enhanced operational processes, provided supply chain management, developed advanced forecasting processes, and secured long-term customer contracts.
Conor holds multiple certifications in Machine Learning (AI) and Applied Business Analytics from Stanford University and MIT. He studied Chemical Engineering and Jazz Music at Oregon State University and he holds four patents (issued) and one pending in solar, power electronics, and off-grid energy systems.
Outside of work, he enjoys his hometown of Bend, Oregon with his wife, three kids, two dogs, five chickens, four ducks, and three rabbits. He’s a musician, outdoor enthusiast, CrossFit fanatic, and part-time hobby farmer.
