Lipsync bought by Ireland-based Playhouse Studios

Irish post production and investment company, Playhouse Studios, has stepped in to acquire storied UK post house, Lipsync, for an undisclosed sum.

Former CEO of Molinare, Mark Foligno, has been named Chief Executive Officer of Lipsync.

Over nearly four decades, Lipsync has played a vital role in delivering more than 200 feature films and high-end television series — many of which have gone on to win BAFTA, Emmy, and Academy Awards. Notable recent credits include Salt Path, The Brutalist, Wolf Hall: The Mirror And The Light, and One Life and Living.

Playhouse Studios is an Irish media production company focused on premium content creation, cutting-edge post-production innovation, and film and television financing. Playhouse says the acquisition of LIPSYNC is a “cornerstone in the Playhouse Groups strategy to build Europe’s most advanced and agile production, post- production, and content financing group.”

Alongside Mark Foligno, the new leadership team includes Lorcan Kavanagh and Peggy Cafferty as Chief Revenue Officer, and Chief Operating Officer respectively.

Focus Capital Partners (“FOCUS”) acted as the sole Corporate Finance Advisor to Playhouse throughout the process. It successfully executed the acquisition of LIPSYNC, along with raising new Capital for the Playhouse Group, as it scales its operations across the UK and Europe. Wallace Corporate Counsel acted as the legal advisors.
